Watch first, block later

Our fraud screening starts by watching, so you learn what fraud looks like in your shop before you block anyone.

A shop owner who has been burned by fraud once wants to block everything that looks odd, but that instinct costs sales. Block too early and you turn away honest customers along with the fraudsters, without ever learning how many.

Our fraud screening works the other way round. It stays off until you switch it on, and then it begins by watching: Wave, MTN and card payments are scored before they complete, and the risky ones are flagged for you to review while customers keep paying as normal.

Give it a few weeks, then look at what was flagged and whether it really was fraud. Once the flags match what you know about your shop, you can turn on blocking for cards, where a flagged payment can be stopped or held for review, while mobile money payments stay on watch.

You can also block a customer you already know is trouble, so that their phone, email and card fail on their next payment.

Screening does not replace a dispute. It happens before the payment, while a card dispute comes afterwards, by a separate path.
