Djaouli Entertainment is a collective based in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, and one of the driving forces behind the city's underground music scene.

Feel the magic in the air

In Babi, BÔRÔ DE DJAOULI is more than a name — it is a movement. Founded by Seny.D and Mask On, the collective is known for experiences in unexpected places: deserted amusement parks, repurposed villas, open-air spots off the grid. Every event is a story; every location a surprise.

Their signature is a fusion of gritty electronic beats and raw Ivorian energy — Baile Funk, Soca, House, Rap, Hip Hop, Reggaeton, Moombahton, Dancehall, Shatta. The vibe is spontaneous, the crowd eclectic, the sound never one-dimensional.

At its core is a desire to break free from mainstream Ivorian nightlife: open, inclusive spaces where locals, expats, and people from every walk of life can enjoy music without barriers.

Turning that vision into something sustainable came with familiar challenges.

Planning the unpredictable

Despite a loyal community, Djaouli faced what most event organizers in Côte d'Ivoire know well: last-minute everything. People bought tickets at the door or hours before doors open, making crowd size hard to forecast. Staffing, logistics, and vendor payments became constant guesswork.

Without reliable sales data, it was difficult to show sponsors concrete numbers — which made long-term partnerships harder to build.

They needed operational stability without killing the spontaneity that defines the brand.

Going digital without selling out

When Djaouli came to us, they did not need a generic payment button. They needed something that matched the rhythm of their scene — mobile-first, lightweight, and invisible until checkout.

Together we built a ticket flow on lomi. checkout with:

Tiered pricing that rewards early buyers while staying accessible for last-minute decisions.

Wave and mobile money support on phones their audience already uses.

Simple data capture — insights without intrusive ID checks at the door.

What changed

At their most recent event, ticket presales rose from roughly 8% of attendees to about 40% — without flattening the energy in the room. That shift gave the team clearer visibility on demand, lower financial risk per event, and better staffing decisions.

The fear that going digital might kill the spirit of the events was overblown. More predictable revenue let them take bigger creative risks with venues, bookings, and formats.

Getting there was not seamless. We navigated skepticism around digital payments, kept credibility with the community, and iterated on the UX until it felt native to the brand — not like a corporate platform pasted on top.

For us, this partnership is a reminder that technology works best when it complements cultural reality instead of overriding it. We open-sourced the boilerplate we built with them so other cultural entrepreneurs can adapt it.

We are not here only to help collectives sell tickets. We want to help them build something lasting — making the underground visible, viable, and valuable.
