The balance moves first

When you refund, your balance drops at once, while the customer's money arrives on the operator's or the bank's schedule.

A customer brings a pair of shoes back to your boutique in Plateau. You refund them on the spot, and they ask the obvious question: when do I get my money?

The honest answer has two parts. Your side moves at once: the moment you refund, your lomi. balance drops and your books show it. Their side depends on whoever holds their money. A Wave or MTN refund is sent to the operator and lands when the operator completes it, while a card refund goes to the bank straight away and the bank usually posts it to the card over several business days.

So tell the customer what they will see rather than what you did: “It's sent. On a card it can take a few days.” That one sentence saves you a second visit and an angry message.

You can refund all of a payment or only part of it, and a partial refund leaves the rest of the sale in place. A refund is your decision, whereas a card dispute belongs to the network and comes later, by a different path.
